Feel the electricity
Swindon Powertrain are a high-performance engine specialist. They partner with the best known names in the automotive and motorsport industries, providing complete electric vehicle solutions and internal combustion engines.
‘Swind’ were the first to put 100 electrified, fully restored classic Minis into production. Whilst there had been one-offs before, Swind were the first to launch such a car to the public. The E Classic also boasted a raft of modern features including underfloor heating and USB charging points.
We were tasked with creating a cohesive visual identity and marketing collateral to support the car’s launch at the London Classic Car show.
The original Mini is considered to be one of the most influential cars of the 20th century and a true icon of 1960s’ British pop culture. For this reason, it is highly revered by classic car collectors. Our response was to create an identity that resonated with this audience, reflecting its heritage whilst also ensuring a contemporary edge to help position this state-of-the-art car as the ‘classic of the future’.
As a subtle nod to Mini’s British heritage, we incorporated sections of the Union Jack as a graphic device, using large photographs to capture both the style and technology of the City EV. A teal blue was adopted as the main primary brand colour to complement the iconic Mini red. The design look and feel was rolled out across a range of launch collateral including brochures and price lists as well as exhibition graphics for the London Classic Car Show.
Since the highly successful launch of the E Classic, Swind have launched an electric conversion package allowing Mini owners to swap their original A-series petrol engine for a zero-emissions unit.
