Boutique branding

Alain Roux is a British Michelin starred chef and chef-patron of The Waterside Inn.

We were delighted to be asked to create a brand identity for the chef’s new Boutique product range, available to purchase in both of his restaurants: The Waterside Inn and Roux at Skindles.

Our challenge was to create a brand for the main Boutique and two distinct product ranges: ‘Homemade’ and ‘Selection’. Products within the range are either specially selected or from recipes created by Chef Alain; therefore, the brand needed all the hallmarks of excellence whilst feeling hand-crafted. The resulting family of logos adopt an elegant sans-serif typeface paired with a handwritten font to add a personal touch. The Boutique brand is timeless, high quality and hand crafted.

The product labels needed to be equally exceptional in terms of both design and finish. By carefully selecting appropriate colours and finishes, we ensured the label designs are a true reflection of the quality of the product, making the items perfect for gift giving.

The client was delighted with the finished branding, and they have since adopted the logo across further products, ribbons and boxes.

We continue to work with the team at The Waterside Inn, including on the recent design of their menus. We are always on hand to give support to their marketing team.
